PROJECT PAN: Pan 18 in 2018 UPDATE #1

4:06:00 PM

It's been about 3 weeks since I posted the intro of my very first Project Pan Series and I am very excited to share my first update. I thought that I would barely make any progress since I only had a few weeks to work on but I am quite satisfied despite my minimal progress.

I have to admit that I haven't been using all the products in my list therefore, I will only show the products that I've actually used for the past few weeks. I decided that some of my make up products (such as foundation and illuminating base) would be more appropriate to use during the colder months. It's been freaking hot here in Australia and make up would just melt right off my face that's why I prefer to use less make up on for now.

So without further ado, let's move on to the make up!  Let's start with the ones with minimal progress:

I've been using this as a make up primer before I apply my actual base make up. I have changed my opinion on this product since using it religiously for the past few weeks. I used to think it's was a "meh" product since it didn't do wonders on my dry skin during the winter season. But now, I've been loving this product! I love the effect it leaves on my skin -- hydrated, smooth and slightly dewy. Despite my minimal progress, I am confident that I can finish this up before the year ends.

2. Naturactor Make Up Base

I feel like this product never ends! I've been using this religiously as a base for my BB cream or on its own and I've barely made progress. I like wearing it on its own on my "no make up" days since it leaves a nice sheen on my skin similar to the "glass skin" trend going on right now.

But despite my minimal progress, I am still confident that I will finish this before the year ends.

As you can see I haven't marked my progress with this one since I realised that it was kinda hard to do so. I tend to hold the products against a bright lamp to see how much is inside but with this one it's a little difficult. See the BB cream started to form a U shaped on the inside so I don't know how to mark it. I was hoping that the before and after photos would be enough to show my progress. Anyway, I've only used this 3x since my last update so sadly, there's not much progress with this one.

I am not a powder person. I used to but not anymore. Since my skin type has changed from combo to dry skin, I started using face powders more sparingly. I am trying to use this as much as I can while it's Summer but as you can see, the progress is almost non-existent. I will try my best to hit pan on it this year but if I can't, I'll use this until I finish it up. Wish me luck!

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: Make Up Forever Mist & Fix Spray

I am surprised at how little progress I made with this one. I use this all the time after I set my T-zone with powder and to help prolong the wear of my make up. I was initially confident that I can finish this up before the year ends but with the rate I'm going this will probably last me until next year. I'm hoping that since the drier months are coming, I would use more of this and hopefully finish it up.

This is another product that will last me all year (or more). I discovered that using my finger to dip in the jar is the reason why it has lasted me this long despite my consistent use of it. I started using a fluffy concealer brush and it made a huge difference on my progress.

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: MAC Prolongwear Paintpot in Soft Ochre

TIP: If you find your paintpot is drying up, try storing it upside-down. It helps prevent the oils from settling at the bottom. That's how I store mine and it's still very creamy even though I've had it for years.

I also made little progress with this one. I did my best to use this as often as I can however, it's just crazy pigmented! I find that I don't use up as much product in every use. Since my intro, I've used this several times and sharpened it once yet I've only made a few millimetres of difference.

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: MAC Lip Pencil

This should make me happy since that means my $30 is money well-spent but as a panner that means I might end up having it for another year. I do love the shade of this one and am also considering getting other shades as well.

Similar with the lip pencil, I barely made progress with this one. I guess the noticeable difference is that I was able to change the shape of the lipstick. Like the MAC lip pencil, this one is also crazy pigmented and lasts for a long time. I really hope that I can finish this up before the year ends so wish me luck!

Now, here are the products I made major progress on:

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: Bobbi Brown Corrector

This one already had a small pan when I posted my intro. After a few weeks, I was able to make the the pan bigger. Yay! Similar to my paintpot, I started using a fluffy brush with this product and it made a huge difference in my panning game. I am trying to use it up as fast as I can since it is getting slightly drier than it used to. I still maintain my opinion of it being overpriced for what it does and will not repurchase it after I'm done with it.

10. Inglot Freedom System Concealer

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: Inglot Freedom System Concealer

I was happy and sad at the same time when I hit pan on this. I love this and is my favorite concealer as of the moment. Now that I hit pan, I am having the urge to stop using it to try and "preserve" it longer.

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: Paul & Joe Face Color

I have been using the crap out of it and was happy that I finally hit pan. I use this on my face and all over my body to give me that glow. I really want to use up the highlighter part this Summer since by Winter, I can only apply highlighter on my face. Still, even if I don't finish it, my initial goal was just to hit pan on the highlighter and I did. So yay!

As much as I enjoy the creativity in the name selection of shades nowadays, I miss the days when a palette tells you exactly the colour you're putting on. That's one of the things I like in this palette. So far, I'm not yet bored with it and I just love the quality of this palette. Despite having it for years, it's still very pigmented, buttery and blends well. Carol Shaw did a good job in the formulation and  putting together the colour scheme for this palette.

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: LORAC PRO 2 Palette

I hit a tiny pan on Mocha just before I did this post. Yay! I don't know if you can even see it in the photos, but trust me it's there. I plan to make a bigger pan on it and hopefully hit pan on another shade on my next update.

www.poshmakeupnstuff.blogspot.com: LORAC PRO 2 Palette

This is my first empty for this project. I know I didn't have a lot of product in it to begin with but I was ignoring it since I got my INGLOT concealer. Doing this project motivated me to focus on this one until I finished it up. I know this is a popular concealer and everyone loves it but I just don't see what the hype is all about. I don't see myself repurchasing this. I'm glad it's done so I can enjoy my Inglot concealer.

  3. I hadn't heard of project pan before I read this post (and then your introduction post to get up to date) but I'm definitely tempted to give it a go. Can't wait to read the next update.
